By collecting the aluminum tabs from your soda (and other) cans and turning them in to our House, you help care for families while their children receive much-needed medical treatment. In 2012, recycled tabs raised more than $24,000 to help support our families.
This is an easy and fun project for schools, clubs or other large groups, as well as individuals and families. All you need are a few collection containers and a lot of enthusiasm.
Save your tabs in any container you can find, such as milk jugs, coffee or Pringles cans, Ziploc bags, boxes, or plastic containers. Use your artistic talents to decorate your containers. We're happy to drop a few collection stickers in the mail for you or you can download a wrapper (see right). Stop in to purchase small tab houses for just $.25 each. (Sorry, houses cannot be mailed.) Make collecting fun and be sure to place your container in a visible location.
Tabs can be dropped off at our House any day between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. or visit a Cohen recycler near you. Please contact us in advance if you would like to arrange a tour when you stop by our House.
We do not recommend mailing tabs, as the postage costs would outweigh the value of the tabs. Not sure if your tabs are aluminum? Use a magnet to check. Aluminum is not magnetic.
Ronald McDonald House is not able to sign any community restitution or court ordered paperwork.
On your mark, get set, collect!

WHEN does the contest end?
Our contest ends on April 22, 2014. (Any tabs turned in after that deadline will count toward the next year's totals.)
HOW do you get started?
Just start collecting! All you need are a few collection containers and a lot of enthusiasm.
WHY do we collect tabs?
Aluminum tabs are recycled, and all the money earned helps ensure a "home away from home" for the families of children being treated at Cincinnati Children's and other nearby hospitals.
